I never had a plan. Just took each day as it came, got married and had babies. It was easy and difficult at the same time. I wish I’d done some things differently, but I’m grateful (try to be) because there are many who would trade their life for mine (heart ache and all) in a heart beat.

Nice reflection, Lynne. When I was printing out a “timeline” exercise for my upcoming memoir class, I paused to reflect on my post-graduate years too. Once we enter early adulthood, so much happens that we couldn’t have predicted or expected. Yet everything turns out just as it should, according to plan, as you noted. Everyone needs to sit down and at least write a journal entry along these lines. It works like a gratitude list, yes?

Lynn – what a beautiful reflection of how life evolves. We go through many ups and downs, but God puts us through this journey for a reason (although sometimes you wonder why). You were able to keep all things in perspective and not lose your faith or love of family and friends. I think, when you re-read this blog, you will again realize what an amazing life you are having. Hi Lynne,
I found your blog via Pam Houghton–I guess great minds think alike, as I posted recently on People’s magazine, and eventually get around to the same point, more or less. Outer beauty is great for first impressions, but most of life is about ongoing relationships, so we all end up meeting people who’s “beauty” increases or decreases as we know them. Meanwhile, I’m a former/recovering People Magazine junkie, but I’ve been off the mag for a while now.
